ABOUT AEON LENDING

Committed to Excellence

AEON Lending Services, Inc., is a new approach to the concept of a personal finance company that meets a presently unmet need.  For lawyers, a common dilemma arises with clients who do not have the funds to retain legal counsel. For clients  who require legal services in civil, traffic, or misdemeanor cases, the inability to retain competent counsel is a nightmare; incredibly stressful and uncertain.

The sixth amendment of the United States Constitution guarantees individuals a right to counsel.  This constitutional right was critical to the founding fathers and has been expanded into well known cultural staples such as the proverbial “TV cop show” when a police officer recites the defendant’s Miranda rights upon arrest of a subject. It remains essential to the American system of justice. However, this sixth amendment right to counsel is valid only for criminal representation, and not for civil matters.  In fact it is not applicable to all criminal charges.

The dilemma is real.  A client is need of a divorce, custody and visitation assistance, DUI representation, or civil assistance but simply cannot afford access to legal counsel when required to pay up front.   Many clients do not have access to funds to pay an attorney the required up-front fee or retainer and may or may not have access to resources to borrow funds for this purpose. Even if the client does have resources, those resources may be needed for living expenses or other needs while the legal matter is ongoing.  Clients do without the needed legal support and Lawyers lose that business.  The fees quoted by lawyers are usually too small for a bank loan, but more than the person has on hand.  AEON Lending Services, Inc., is a micro lender designed to meet this need.

A study conducted by the Legal Services Corporation (LSC), a nonprofit corporation that funds legal aid organizations in the United States, revealed that, in the past year, 86% of the civil legal problems reported by low-income Americans received inadequate or no legal help. 71% of low-income households experienced at least one civil legal problem in the last year, including problems with health care, housing conditions, disability access, veterans’ benefits, and domestic violence, and last, in 2017, low-income Americans will approach LSC-funded legal aid organizations for support with an estimated 1.7 million problems. They will receive only limited or no legal help for more than half of these problems due to a lack of resources.  The Executive Summary from the 2022 report from LSC revealed that, “Low-income Americans do not get any or enough legal help for 92% of their substantial civil legal problems.”

Our company will pay attorney’s fees or retainer amounts in advance up to the amount of $3,500.00 and provide the client with a repayment plan of up to twelve (12) months. This personal loan will be provided with no credit check; however, a stable address is required, as are a bank account, and stable employment.
